Derek-Wieland.jpg

New York-based pianist Derek Wieland can be found on stage in the wintry months, performing with Trans-Siberian Orchestra, the progressive rock band known for sold-out arena tours across the country.  Beyond working as Musical Director of TSO and Keyboardist for the band since 2006, he enjoys a rich career as an impassioned pianist steeped in the classical tradition.  Wieland has performed throughout the U.S., Europe, South America, South Africa, Taiwan, Korea and Japan. He has appeared as soloist with orchestras that include the Slovak Philharmonic, the Cleveland Orchestra, the Long island Philharmonic and the String Orchestra of New York City at Lincoln Center.  In 2013, he was the featured musician, and Musical Director of the New York Musical Theater's production of Feather.  Wieland earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1992 and Master of Arts in 1994 from the Juilliard School, and is a student of the late Hungarian pianist György Sándor.

Shih-Yi-Chiang.jpg

A native of Taiwan, Shih-Yi Chiang has performed internationally as both a solo and duo artist.   With identical twin sister Tien-Yi, she has enchanted audiences with an array of works for solo piano and four-hands, drawing from chamber and concerto repertoire—finely wrought renderings of Mozart, Stravinsky, Rachmaninoff, Mihaud and others.   Her appearances have spanned the globe, in venues that have included the National Recital Hall in Taipei and Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall for a duo performance praised by New York Concert Review for "remarkable balance and fluid handling.”  Chiang holds a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts from the Juilliard School, where she studied with Josef Raieff and legendary Russian pianist Oxana Yablonskaya. In 2007, she received her Doctor of Musical Arts from the Graduate Center, City University of New York under the tutelage of Peter Basquin.  She resides in New York City.

Leerone-Hakami.jpg

Israeli-American violinist Leerone Hakami began her studies at 5 years old, after 3 years of begging her parents to play the instrument. Leerone studied at Mannes Pre-College, serving as the concertmaster of the Mannes Philharmonic, and she spent her summers at festivals in Europe and the US. Leerone was the Gold Medal and Grand Prize recipient of multiple competitions, including the International Virtuoso Competition and the New York Artists International Competition, and she appeared as a soloist with the NY Concerti Sinfonietta in their 2014 Carnegie Hall concert. A first year undergraduate, Leerone studies with Lewis Kaplan at The Juilliard School. Her other interests include travel, learning new languages, and trying new foods.
