The Rose Art Foundation invited you to a wonderful night of performance, mingling, cocktails, and hors d'oeuvres.

In honor of a great cause —
to bring Invacare Recliners
to immobile and handicapped seniors.

The evening raised nearly $100,000,
supplying nearly 200 chairs across many nursing homes!

We were honored to have internationally acclaimed actor Stephen Lang (Avatar) as our host for the evening.

 

Stephen Lang

STEPHEN LANG has distinguished himself as a star of stage and screen over a long and varied career. Productions include DEATH OF A SALESMAN, A FEW GOOD MEN, DEFIANCE, HAMLET, THE SPEED OF DARKNESS, WAIT UNTIL DARK, and a score of others. His solo play, BEYOND GLORY, ran 101 critically acclaimed performances at The Roundabout's Laura Pels Theater. Nominations and/or awards include The Helen Hayes, The Joseph Jefferson, The Lucille Lortel, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, and Tony Awards. His many films include LAST EXIT TO BROOKLYN, GODS AND GENERALS, GETTYSBURG, TOMBSTONE, PUBLIC ENEMIES, WHITE IRISH DRINKERS, CHRISTINA, MANHUNTER, CONAN THE BARBARIAN, and AVATAR. His television work includes TERRA NOVA and CRIME STORY. He recently wrote and voiced THE WHEATFIELD, an animated 11 minute film, to mark and honor the 150th anniversary of The Battle of Gettysburg. Lang will be touring BEYOND GLORY this fall to the heartland of America. He is a member of The Actors Studio, and holds Honorary Doctorates from Jacksonville University and Swarthmore College.

Anne Warin

Anne Warin is French singer/songwriter/actress. She has recorded two solo albums with major recording companies. She also originated lead roles in several long-running French musicals such as Annees Twist which won the Moliere for best musical, and Les Dix Commandements which won best song at Le Victoire de la Musique. Anne is also an opera soprano.

Matthew Prescott

Matthew attended the inaugural year of the Joffrey/New School University in NYC. In 2000, he joined the Joffrey Ballet for a number of years before setting out as a freelance artist. Matthew was featured in Robert Altman's film "The Company." Matthew has choreographed works performed by Complexions Contemporary Ballet, Chamber Dance Project, the Joffrey Ballet School, BalletX, and for Misty Copeland for Prince’s Coming to America 2010 Madison Square Garden performances as well as the Vail International Dance Festival. Matthew recently made his Broadway debut as Older Billy as well as his position as Resident Choreographer on the national tour of Billy Elliot.

Giorgia Bovo

Giorgia was born in Biella, Italy where she grew up until her dance studies brought her to Firenze to train on full scholarship at Scuola del Balletto di Toscana. While in Italy she performed with Junior Balletto di Toscana and Kaos-Balletto di Firenze. After moving to NY in 2007 She has worked with The Metropolitan Opera, Armitage Gone! Dance, The Francesca Harper Project, Terra Firma Dance Theatre and Collective Body Dance Lab. She currently works with Matthew Prescott, Bradley Shelver Dance Theater, Gabrielle Lamb, Indelible Dance, Rebecca Kelly Ballet and Untitled Collective to name a few.

Nile Baker

Nile was born and raised in California. He moved to Detroit, Michigan at the age of sixteen to live with his grandparents. He began his dance training at the O’Day School of Dance in Detroit and soon after began additional study under Sergey Rayevskiy at the Academy of Russian Classical Ballet in Novi, Michigan. He continued his training at Wayne State University, the University of Michigan Ann Arbor, and the Ailey School/Fordham University where he earned his BFA in 2011, which culminated in a solo performance choreographed by Bradley Shelver. He has performed works by Scott Rink, Francesca Harper, Leyya Tawil, Francisco Martinez, Peter Sparling, Igal Perry, Elisa Monte, Donald McKayle, Paul Taylor, and Alvin Ailey. Nile is currently performing at the Metropolitan Opera in this year’s productions of Rigoletto, Madame Butterfly, Rusalka, and Prince Igor.
